Point Peron is also known as Cape Peron. Rugged limestone cliffs, reefs and
beautiful panoramic views are a feature of this very popular area.
During WWII, an observation post for the coastal battery was located on the hilltop, and the
old buildings remain.
A short climb up to the old observation post will give you spectacular
views over Cockburn Sound, and the offshore islands. The lookout can be accessed by a pleasant
winding path (no steps), or a fairly steep set of steps for those feeling a little more
energetic!
Point Peron is excellent for fishing, snorkelling and diving. Explore the rock pools at low tide.
Several car parks are available. When leaving your car for a few hours exploring the Point, please
make sure all valuables are locked away, out of sight.
